There are few things more interesting to me than picking up a book. I love their feel, their smell (old or new), and the sound of turning pages. In short, I love books!
My father gave me a love of writing and history. He taught me that putting words together well is an art. Our most basic knowledge should be of our language, since it is how we communicate with each other.
My mother gave me the gift of imagination. She encouraged me to dream and reach beyond what I could see or hear or feel.
Both my parents gave me a sense of adventure. During college, I attended the University of the Seven Seas, a floating campus that traveled the world, visiting 17 countries. I became a flight attendant for a major airline, which gave me more opportunity to travel. It was my good fortune to experience the world from a young perspective, and I grew up believing that with persistence and hard work, and a little imagination, anything is possible.
25 years ago I moved with my family to the gold country of northern California. It is here that history and writing came together for me, and I have been writing ever since. I live with my wonderful husband of over 45 years and our rescued racing Greyhound, "Biscuit."
